Sad Flower

February 18, 2010

Do you feel the chill
When you’re crawling and melting for a thrill
Do you have a word to save
When they have taken for granted everything you gave

The world is wilting
And my thoughts are building
A world
A world for you and me

When you’re bent out and broken and falling about
When you look at the sun and you follow around
There isn’t a sadder flower than a flower that looks down

When the night shook you of all of your dreams out
When the sky’s darkness has filled you with doubt
There isn’t a sadder flower than a flower that looks down

Do you feel the heat
When you’ve gotten with me and you’ve settled in your seat
Do you have a word to lose
When I’ve finally decided for you to be my muse

The world is wilting
And my thoughts are building
A world
A world for you and me

When you’re bent out and broken and falling about
When you look at the sun and you follow around
There isn’t a sadder flower than a flower that looks down

When the night shook you of all of your dreams out
When the sky’s darkness has filled you with doubt
There isn’t a sadder flower than a flower that looks down

Don’t you fret
Don’t regret
When I’m right here by your side
With a whole world left to hide

You won’t have to run away from the night
Anymore

When you’re bent out and broken and falling about
When you look at the sun and you follow around
There isn’t a sadder flower than a flower that looks down

When the night shook you of all of your dreams out
When the sky’s darkness has filled you with doubt
There isn’t a sadder flower than a flower that looks down
